When it comes to that infamous baby bump, many regular women out there begin worrying immediately about not only what kind of mother they will make but also about diet and weight loss. It seems like all the stars they see get pregnant, have the baby, and two days later are back in that size 2 dress! Many of us wonder how they do that – are Hollywood stars super magical beings that don’t gain weight and have no trouble with weight loss?
Well, Angelina Jolie is a perfect example of one of those “perfect” pregnant stars. Throughout both of her pregnancies it seemed like she didn’t add a single pound, but didn’t look sickly either. It may be the one thing she actually thanks her estranged father, Jon Voight, for. She refers to her dad as “lanky”, and added that though it didn’t seem like it she was actually trying to gain a little more weight to have “room to stretch.”
One way that Angelina kept her svelte figure during her pregnancy and was super skinny afterward was not by exercising excessively. In fact, her personal policy was to allow herself anything she wanted as long as it didn’t interfere with what the babies growing inside her would need. Part of her experience as a humanitarian came into play during this important time of her life.
Influenced by the hunger epidemic across the globe, Angelina settled on a very modest diet, but nothing that would endanger her babies. Her diet was actually a very healthy one inclusive of fresh fruits and vegetables, fish, milk, tea, and low carb foods. Although she did workout a little, but not as avidly as she is used to, training for her latest action film, Wanted helped to keep her fit. The only thing that Angelina really cut out was junk food, which is always a good choice!
During her first pregnancy, with Shiloh, Angelina gained about 25 pounds, which isn’t much. For her 5’7” frame, she wanted to get back down to at least 129 pounds, and has done so swimmingly. So how does she do it? And can you? You bet!
In order to lose the baby weight, Angelina didn’t starve herself or go on a crash diet. She simply stepped up her yoga practice and added African ginger root and garlic tea to her diet, which is said to be a natural weight loss inducer. Additionally, she breastfed the babies, which also helps new mothers lose weight quite rapidly.
So, if you want to bounce back after baby just like Angelina, you’ll see it isn’t that hard to do. Of course, having good genes like she does will help, but keeping these Angelina beauty secrets about diet and weight loss in mind will definitely do the trick. Just remember to keep a healthy diet both during and after your pregnancy, stay focused on proper exercise, and breastfeed!
